Arytmetyka sił w drugiej wojnie światowej w Europie była wynikiem decyzji Polaków w czasie pertraktacji z Hitlerem rozpoczętych w dniu 5 sierpnia 1935, kiedy Hitler oświadczył, że stosunki z Polską są dla Niemiec pierwszorzędnej wagi a zwłaszcza pakt anty-sowiecko kooperacja sił wojskowych etc. Wcześniej w czasie pobytu w więzieniu w Landsbergu w Bawarii, w 1925 roku, kiedy Hitler dyktował Rudolfowi Hess’owi treść książki „Mein Kampf” otrzymał on pouczenia od generała majora w stanie spoczynku, profesora geopolityki Karla Ensta Haushofera (ur. w 1869). Generał Karl Hauhoer popełnił samobójstwo 10go marca 1946 z powodu poczucia współwiny w formułowaniu planów Hitlera, których wykonanie doprowadziło Niemcy do katastrofy w 1945 roku u progu epoki nuklearnej i tym samym zniszczenie niemieckich ambicji imperialnych >>more...

The author describes his deportation on a train bound for Treblinka, during which he hears assurances that the Jews are being transported to a work camp in the Ukraine. Upon arrival, he describes the scene at Treblinka, including the fake railroad station. The Germans pull him out of the line to the gas chambers, and recruit him as a barber. His job is to shave the heads of people before their gassing. The victims know what awaits them. Some women vainly hope that the men will not be gassed, so that their sons will survive and eventually avenge the crime. >>more...

I overlook any stylistic deficiencies of this work and focus on its historical content. The book begins with Dirlewanger's early life, service in WWI, etc. The account of his mid-1930's crime of statutory rape (pp. 28-29, 48-49) makes it unclear if the age of consent in Nazi Germany had been only 14. >>more...
