Belarusian Nationalism Scholarship of Imagination:fake or fiction?

Friday, December 11, 2015
Aiming to introduce “Belarusian nationalism” (why not “White Ruthenian,” “Belorussian,” or “Byelorussian” is not explained)1 to Western scholarship, Per Anders Rudling has written two works under one cover. One is a true believer’s regurgitation of leftist theories of nationalism. The other is an awkward attempt to ram the modern historical experience of the people of Belarus into the ideological paradigm which guides him. The result is a mixed bag of misinterpreted historical gems and predictable post-modernist clichés. The greatest flaw is that the author does not sufficiently know the history of the lands and peoples of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, where, in his view, Belarusian nationalism was “imagined.” Despite all this, the historian amazingly distills a sound conclusion, namely that modern ideologies imposed on the denizens of Belarus were calamitous for them. Since neither his theoretical baggage nor empirical evidence rendered themselves to this conclusion, we must assume that the scholar arrived at it largely intuitively. >>more...

Polish Nationalism—Old and New. The Truth at Last,

Tuesday, December 8, 2015
POLAND FOR THE POLES! WHO WERE AND ARE THE POLISH NATIONALISTS? is the title of this Polish-language work. This tour de force is a comprehensive history of the Polish national movement, and it provides a much-needed corrective to the grotesque caricature, of Polish nationalism, that is routinely done by leftists and certain Jews. This work covers Polish nationalism from the days of Roman Dmowski, and then proceeds through Polish history all the way to the present. It is a somewhat frustrating item to review, as there is so much worthwhile information, and space to mention only a little of it. >>more...

Warsaw. The Jewish Metropolis: Essays in Honor of the 75th Birthday of Professor Antony Polonsky

Monday, November 30, 2015
This anthology covers many topics, of which I discuss a few. Compared with most Jewish-authored works, this one employs less of a finger-pointing attitude towards Poles. >>more...

Komparatystyka mordów

Monday, November 23, 2015

Marek Jan Chodakiewicz, wykładowca The Institute of World Politics w Waszyngtonie, w rozmowie z AIP >>more...

Pogrm or revange-Repraisel (pogrom czy Odwet)Coursed soldiers in action

Wednesday, November 18, 2015
POGROM OR REPRISAL? is the title of this scholarly, Polish-language work. Noted historian Marek Jan Chodakiewicz introduces this work, stressing the fact that author Mariusz Bechta has done an extensive examination (with Benedictine-style patience!) of the pertinent archives (p. 14), and that, had Polish forces been out to “finish Hitler’s job” by killing Jews indiscriminately, FAR more Jews would have died than actually did. (p. 12 >>more...

The Systematic Nazi German Mass Murders of Poles and Jews in 1939,

Friday, November 13, 2015
This work surveys the murders of Polish and Jewish civilians during the 1939 war, and in the remaining two months of 1939. However, it does not touch on the thousands of disarmed Polish POWs who were murdered by the Germans in the wake of the 1939 German-Soviet conquest of Poland. >>more...

JEDWABNE WITNESSES;Wha are the Jews?( In polish)

Wednesday, November 11, 2015
THE SOVIET REALITY 1939-1941 ACCORDING TO THE TESTIMONIES OF POLISH JEWS, is the title of this Polish-language scholarly work. The bulk of the content of this book consists of the testimonies of those of Poland's Jews that had been deported to Russia in 1939-1941, alongside the larger numbers of ethnic Poles. Some of the cited testimonies are of ethnic Poles.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

The author is better-known as a person than for his books. In this book (p. 113), he called attention to the indiscriminate use of the charge of anti-Semitism to obstruct inquiry that might lead to valid criticism of Jewish conduct. (p. 113). >>more...
