Jewish Poland Revisited: Heritage Tourism in Unquiet Places;NOT GERMANY, POLAND: A UNIQUELY MALEVOLENT PLACE—IN THE JEWISH MIND

Friday, June 16, 2017
This book can be useful for those readers interested in a compendium of Polish-Jewish interactions in modern Poland. Most of it, however, is standard fare (as elaborated in the latter part of my review). The most distinctive part of the book is as follows: >>more...

Jewish Collaboration With the Nazis: How Jews Tried to Deal With It. Insufficient Analyses of Basic Questions That Are Raised;ONCE A SINGLE STANDARD FOR COLLABORATION

Thursday, June 15, 2017
A Jewish honor court was one that determined whether a Jew was, based on his wartime conduct, entitled to standing in the Jewish community. This work takes a mostly geographically-oriented approach, focusing on post-WWII Jewish honor courts in Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, France, etc.

After a flurry of Jewish interest in the immediate postwar years, the question of Jewish collaboration became taboo in the 1960s and 1970s. (Jockusch and Finder, p. 12). In recent years, with the passage of time, this question has passed from a moral to a historical plane, and there is no longer any need to attribute blame or valor. (ibid, p. 15). [Has it? Would it not be more accurate to say that the question of blame has been erased by the tendency to see Jews unilaterally as victims and never as victimizers? The Polish Blue Police and the Jewish Ghetto Police: No Dualism in German-Serving Poles and German-Serving Jews;JEWISH COLLABORATORS—NOT POLISH COLLABORATORS—MADE THE GERMAN-MADE SHOAH A SUCCESS!

Thursday, June 15, 2017
The Polish Blue Police and the Jewish Ghetto Police: No Dualism in German-Serving Poles and German-Serving Jews! This work presents a wealth of information. Owing to the fact that the conduct of the Polish Blue Police (POLICJA GRANATOWA) has been presented, in a rather lurid manner, by neo-Stalinist authors such as Jan T. Gross and Jan Grabowski, Yitzhak Zuckerman’s eyewitness testimony serves as an eye-opening corrective. >>more...

The holocaust Jewish debate in Israel in 1950-tiesWhen Jewish Collaboration With the Nazis Was Recognized as a Valid Consideration. Strong Anti-Polish Innuendo

Thursday, June 15, 2017
This works features the Judenrat controversy, the question of Jewish heroism, martyrdom, and "passivity". However, this stands out over everything else in this book:

the Entire Nazi German Forced-Labor System. Features Jewish KAPOS;

Thursday, June 15, 2017
The Nazis started to use foreigners for forced labor in 1939 (p. 69), but especially from 1940. Goebbels stated that "Roma [Gypsies], Jews, and Poles will receive identical treatment" in this regard. (p. 13). >>more...

“Choiceless Choice”

Thursday, June 15, 2017
There are books that become known less for their content, and more for an idea that they had introduced or popularized. This book is one of them. Lawrence L. Langer and his “Choiceless Choice” has become part of Holocaustpeak, thanks in large part to this book. My review exclusively focuses on this >>more...

THE BLOODY APPARITIONS;Move Over, JUDENJAGD. A Superb, Detailed, and Objective WWII History of Dabrowa Tarnowska County

Wednesday, June 14, 2017
THE BLOODY APPARITIONS is the title of this Polish-language book. The geographic setting of this work is the same as that of neo-Stalinist Jan Grabowski's anti-Polish book, JUDENJAGD (THE HUNT FOR THE JEWS), which distorts events in a contextual vacuum. Adam Kazimierz Musial's work, which preceded JUDENJAGD, is incomparably better. It tells the full story of what happened in Dabrowa County, to Jews AND Poles, under the German occupation. Unlike JUDENJAGD, Musial's work includes information derived from the archives of the A. K. (ARMIA KRAJOWA). (p. 10, 27 >>more...

Ordinary Jews: Choice and Survival during the Holocaust;Jewish-Nazi Collaboration Analyzed. Earlier Jewish-Soviet Collaboration at Bialystok: Exculpation Falls Apart,

Other reviews of this book already inform the reader about its overall content, and I do not repeat them. Instead, I focus on specific themes. My review content is topical, and not according to the actual chronology of events.

From Oswiecim to Auschwitz: Poland Revisited; an Example of Jewish-German Collaboration, Against Poland, in the 1939 War,

Saturday, June 10, 2017
Other reviewers already inform the reader about the content of this book, including its emphasis on Hasidism in Poland. Instead of repeating them, I focus on a distinctive item of information.

Much has been written about some Poles who, during the Nazi German occupation, had served the Germans at the expense of the Jews. However, it is also a little-known fact that some Jews had earlier curried favor with the German invaders of Poland in 1939. This book provides one such example. >>more...
