Extreme Suffering, and Moral Dilemmas, Because of the German-made Shoah,

Thursday, February 4, 2016
This is a collection, written by rabbis, of the unfolding Holocaust. The rabbis were from Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Poland, and other eastern European nations. Some of these accounts date from the Shoah itself, while others were written fairly soon after WWII. Unlike many modern Holocaust materials, these authors tell it like it was. They do not try to de-Germanize the Nazis. >>more...

Move Over, JUDENJAGD. A Superb, Detailed, and Objective WWII History of Dabrowa Tarnowska Count

Sunday, January 24, 2016
THE BLOODY GHOSTS is the title of this Polish-language book. The geographic setting of this work is the same as that of neo-Stalinist Jan Grabowski's anti-Polish book, JUDENJAGD (THE HUNT FOR THE JEWS), which distorts events in a contextual vacuum. Adam Kazimierz Musial's work, which preceded JUDENJAGD, is incomparably better. It tells the full story of what happened in Dabrowa County, to Jews AND Poles, under the German occupation. Unlike JUDENJAGD, Musial's work includes information derived from the archives of the A. K. (ARMIA KRAJOWA). (p. 10, 27) >>more...

Polish Complicity in the Holocaust Remains Unsubstantiated. WCALE NIE POTWIERDZA ZNACZNEJ POLSKIEJ ROLI W HOLOCAUSCIE

Sunday, January 24, 2016
IT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL, SUNNY DAY, is the title of this Polish language book. It comes across as yet another anti-Polish hit piece related to the Shoah.

The book, at first, seems outwardly objective. Unlike most other Jewish authors, Engelking realizes the Polish suffering under the Germans. However, she seldom internalizes the implications of the situation facing Poles, and how it sometimes drove them to denounce or kill Jews. Poles are always guilty no matter what! >>more...

Koniec ery

Looting, Grave Robbery, Property Restitution--Not Only Poles from Jews: more books on the subject

Tuesday, December 15, 2015
The list author says: "Jan T. Gross, in his recently-published ZLOTE ZNIWA (GOLDEN HARVESTS), has presented a decidedly unobjective focus on looting. The reader is led to believe that only Poles looted from Jews, desecrated sites of the Jewish dead, and benefited from German crimes by acquiring post-Jewish properties--or that Jews were the only victims of such event >>more...

The First israelis:Looting Was No More a Polish Disease Than it Was a Jewish Disease

There are many reviews of this item. They freely inform the reader about the general features of this book, and I will not repeat them. Instead, I approach this book from an entirely different angle. >>more...

Jewish View of Jewish Elitism, Jewish Cosmopolitanism, Jewish Particularism

Saturday, December 12, 2015
Maurice Samuel (1895-1972) was a Jewish writer and Zionist. He identified himself as a freethinker. (p. 74, 76). He gives some frank insights into Jewish thinking, and I focus on a few of the topics he raises. My review is based on the original 1924 edition.

A 1920’s Catholic Traditionalist View of Jews. Insights into Polish-Jewish Antagonisms,

Saturday, December 12, 2015
Nowadays, the pre-Vatican II view of Jews is unilaterally demonized. In light of this, the reader may be surprised at the measured reasoning and even-handedness of this devout Catholic author. He lets the Jews tell their side of the story. Contrary to what might be expected, he rejects any theologically-based explanations for the Jews’ situation in the world. (pp. 277-278). His reasoning is almost entirely secular in nature. >>more...

Belarusian Nationalism Scholarship of Imagination:fake or fiction?

Friday, December 11, 2015
Aiming to introduce “Belarusian nationalism” (why not “White Ruthenian,” “Belorussian,” or “Byelorussian” is not explained)1 to Western scholarship, Per Anders Rudling has written two works under one cover. One is a true believer’s regurgitation of leftist theories of nationalism. The other is an awkward attempt to ram the modern historical experience of the people of Belarus into the ideological paradigm which guides him. The result is a mixed bag of misinterpreted historical gems and predictable post-modernist clichés. The greatest flaw is that the author does not sufficiently know the history of the lands and peoples of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, where, in his view, Belarusian nationalism was “imagined.” Despite all this, the historian amazingly distills a sound conclusion, namely that modern ideologies imposed on the denizens of Belarus were calamitous for them. Since neither his theoretical baggage nor empirical evidence rendered themselves to this conclusion, we must assume that the scholar arrived at it largely intuitively. >>more...

Polish Nationalism—Old and New. The Truth at Last,

Tuesday, December 8, 2015
POLAND FOR THE POLES! WHO WERE AND ARE THE POLISH NATIONALISTS? is the title of this Polish-language work. This tour de force is a comprehensive history of the Polish national movement, and it provides a much-needed corrective to the grotesque caricature, of Polish nationalism, that is routinely done by leftists and certain Jews. This work covers Polish nationalism from the days of Roman Dmowski, and then proceeds through Polish history all the way to the present. It is a somewhat frustrating item to review, as there is so much worthwhile information, and space to mention only a little of it. >>more...
