Because there are so many matters raised by author Biale, I mention some particularly interesting information, and then focus on a few themes. >>more...

FROM THE CHMIELNICKI PERSECUTION OF THE JEWS IN POLAND

Thursday, April 16, 2015
The following scenario of the 17th-century Khmelnitsky (Chmielnicki) revolt is commonly presented in Ukrainian-Jewish dialogue: The Polish nobility and Jesuits oppressed the Cossacks. Jews were pawns of the nobility. The Jews merely transmitted the orders of the Polish overlords, and then became the innocent victims of Cossack anger over the Polish policies >>more...

Wednesday, April 8, 2015
This book spans ancient times to the present, and focuses on historical, social, political, and literary events. Owing to the profligacy of the topics presented, I focus on only a few salient topics. There are quite a few misconceptions and oversimplifications stated by the various authors, and I mention only a few of them >>more...

Conspiracy, Assassination, and Disinformation:Moscow

Wednesday, April 1, 2015
Nemtsov was shot right outside of the Kremlin, a very secure place. Further, he often complained about his FSB tail, a surveillance squad, which shadowed him. Why didn’t they jump to the rescue? Also, a snow plow inched slowly behind the strolling couple, obscuring security cameras. >>more...

Moscow’s ‘Spetznatz Day’ is Everyday: Conspiracy, Assassination, and Disinformation

Sunday, March 22, 2015
The smoke had hardly cleared after the murder of the Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, on February 27, celebrated in Russia, ironically, as “Spetznatz Day,” when the Kremlin and its mignons paraded a slew of conspiracy theories regarding the culprits. None of them included President Vladimir Putin. In fact, Russia’s strongman growled that the killing was “a provocation.” By whom? >>more...

Wednesday, March 11, 2015
The author's father lived in Jedwabne. (p. 149). This book assembles a great deal of information about this subject. Owing to the fact that much has been already written about it, I focus on new and little-known information instead of repeating previously-discussed well-known information. >>more...

The Future of American Jew

AMERICAN JEWS ALREADY VERY SECULAR

The author engages in what arguably can be called soft atheism. Kaplan consistently rejects the supernatural, including God. (See especially his caricature of God, worthy of a militant atheist, on page 225 and page 538). To Kaplan, "God" is to be re-defined as a cosmic process, or as a Power to help one overcome obstacles, and not a Supreme Being in the conventional sense of the term. (e. g., pp. 171-172, 182-183, 192). Why not just drop the pretense of believing in God at all? >>more...
